Well, where do I start!
Firstly, it is my belief that most mothers out there are terrified that something could happen to their children. Of course this is nature’s way of protecting the species and we will go to any length to make sure our babies grow up happy and healthy. That’s the way it should be.
When I was nought but a babe, car seats were not around and I was blessed with having to sit on the wheel arch in the back as I was the smallest of three! If car seats had been around, the car just wouldn’t have taken 3 seats as it was quite small. Humour aside, when we were involved in what could have been a very serious collision, we were very lucky that my father had been such a good driver as he apparently managed to steer the car so he got most of the impact. Wasn’t so good for him and his bones, but at least we were all OK which made him happy. Dazed and a bit bruised, but OK.
Thankfully, when I began to increase the population, car seats were starting to become more common and I was quick to get them. OK, so big businesses make a lot of money out of our fears, but on the plus side, they have thrown a lot of money at research in to the latest technological advances to protect children. For me, after researching the markets and using the products I believe these particular seats offer the protection needed at a reasonable price.
Of course I wouldn’t be as forward as to suggest you must get them, but the Britax Duo Plus Isofix range are certainly worth checking out as they have a very good reputation and were awared recommended status by the Which magazine this year (2009).
